PAT Testing Services

For most businesses it is more cost effective and less disruptive to contract out their portable appliance testing thus leaving their staff to concentrate on what they do best. Whether you have 10 appliances or 1,000 appliances we are happy to look after your needs.

Why Test?

There are several Health and Safety Executive Regulations with which employers must comply in order to improve safety and reduce work related injuries. Failure to do so may mean that you invalidate your insurance, and also make you liable for hefty fines or even jail terms. Links to HSE regulations as follows:
  Electricity At Work Regulations 1989
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Who Can Do The Testing?

Our City & Guilds 2377 certified engineer will provide a discreet efficient service working outside normal working hours if required to minimize disruption, especially in a busy office environment. All testing will be performed in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. All paperwork required as part of this Code of Practice will be undertaken meaning this is more legislation you don't need to worry about.

The Paperwork

All portable appliances tested will be uniquely identified and labelled with a safety sticker to enable easy identification in the event of a Health and Safety Inspection. Upon completion of the testing we will provide the required report in either paper based or electronic format identifying each appliance with information on the tests carried out.

Repairs

Minor faults highlighted during inspection of the appliances will be repaired free of charge as they are found and then retested. More complicated repairs will be priced individually and agreement sought before commencement. Un-repairable or dangerous faults will result in the appliance being failed and labelled accordingly.
